Messy Church News: April 2024

It was wonderful to see so many at Messy Church for Easter 2024.

The children (and adults!) enjoyed making the various crafts including palms for Palm Sunday,  Easter cards for their families and friends, cardboard Easter eggs – which they could decorate (there were some beautiful creations!) Also, pictures depicting the final part of the Easter story where Christ rose from the dead.

The little ones in particular loved sticking the various stickers to make up their version of the Easter story and colouring them in. There was also a Holy Week wheel which they could make and colour. It represented the Triduum (the three Holy Days leading up to Easter – Maundy Thursday, Good Friday and Easter Sunday).

Julie from Lily’s Lavender Hut also joined us and made some wonderful Easter chicks with the children and adults.

There was also a puppet show, talk and an action song for everyone to join in.

It really was a wonderful afternoon. Thank you to all of those who helped make it possible and for all your hard work and dedication. Without you all, we would not have Messy Church.

Our next Messy Church sessions are on

Saturday 18 May and Saturday 15 June
from 2pm to 4pm at the Church Street Rooms.

There will be lots of fun activities, including puppets which the children can get involved with! So please do come!

We are always looking for helpers too! So if you are able to help, please contact either Louise on 07837 159222
or Ann via cr8d@outlook.com.
